Weather Board

This is a great actvity to encourage children to think about the environment round them and use their observational skills too!

Firstly create a weather board! You will need to find the various symbols Page 1 and Page 2. Then once you have them its just a case of getting a board to stick them on.

Then simply discuss with the children each day what the weather is like and support them to choose the correct symbol for the chart.

After a few days you will hopefully be able to discuss with the children how the weather has changed (from wet to dry or cold to hot)

Its always fun to bring different types of dressing up clothes (coat, hat, wellies, umbrella and so on) and ask the children which is the best to wear for the weather that day!Tthe children should find this an easy task and can extended by talking about what would happen if you wore the wrong clothes!

There are also various songs that you can sing that focus on the different types of weather!
